Welcome to Pinoy Maritime - a blog for seafarers, which aims to help seamen make most out of their career, by sharing knowledge and ideas I’ve learned through studies and experiences.

I am Chris; an active Marine Deck Officer working onboard tanker vessels particularly crude oil carriers and product tankers. I do some service onboard cargo ships like containers and bulk carriers, but most of my officer career is now dedicated to tanker ships.

MY HOBBIES

I enjoy reading, discussing ideas to common friends, sharing knowledge through my teaching skills, and watching movies. My hobbies includes photography, but I’m not that good as a photographer.

HOW PINOY MARITIME WAS CREATED?

My brother, a blogging enthusiast introduced to me blogging. By the time he finished explaining to me about blogging, I got interested and start my own blog. Pinoy Maritime has been my way of communicating to other people and give a different point of view on issues either related to maritime or not, that may interest every reader of this blog and benefit from it.

By the time Pinoy Maritime was launched I was hoping to see a lot of visits from seafarers, but I’ve found out that most of my personal articles and point of views which caters to all readers are often visited, read, and commented which I greatly appreciate.

WHY PINOY MARITIME?

This site aims to share ideas and knowledge online, to help aspiring seafarers, and to give them a different point of view about the maritime industry. Pinoy Maritime is dedicated to give a more personal approach to some topics related to seafaring which can be learned on books but can be applied differently onboard the ship. I also personally would like to share some of my ideas on this blog, as a common person who wants to comment on certain topics or issues that can give awareness, and interest every reader of this blog.

THE REASON WHY

There may be times that I won’t be able to update this blog due to the reason that I am on board, please bear with me because during my vacation, I will surely update the articles here at Pinoy Maritime.
