When we talk about the richest person in the world, you would most likely think of Bill Gates or Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah. But think again. It’s not likely that they can still stay at the top list. Bill Gates constantly dominated the list for the past 13 years, but no longer this time.

In the recent article of Forbes they write a list of the richest person in the world entitled “The World’s Billionaires”.

“After 13 years on top, Bill Gates is no longer the richest man in the world. That honor now belongs to his friend and sometimes bridge partner Warren Buffett. Riding the surging price of Berkshire Hathaway stock, Buffett has seen his fortune swell to an estimated $62 billion, up $10 billion from a year ago. Gates is now worth $58 billion and is ranked third richest in the world. He is up $2 billion from a year ago, but would have been as rich–or richer–than Buffett, had Microsoft not made an unsolicited bid for Yahoo! at the beginning of February. Mexican telecom mogul Carlos Slim Helú now ranks as the world’s second richest person with a net worth of $60 billion“; as said by forbes.com.

A similar article entitled “Top ten richest person in the world - 2008″, posted by top–10.blogspot shows almost the same result as well. With regards to their wealth or income, you can just imagine the amount of money they are earning being the richest person in the world. They can start their own city if they want to. Among the the Top three are:

1. Warren Buffett - 62 billion dollars
2. Carlos Slim Helu - 60 billion dollars
3. Bill Gates - 58 billion dollars
