Today is Mother’s Day. Did you give your mother a gift? You can simply invite her over for dinner or lunch to celebrate Mother’s Day. A simple greet will do, for her to feel that she is remembered by her family. Its only once a year, that’s why it’s worthwhile to remember her at Mother’s Day. Here at Pinoy Maritime we will recognize our mothers and greet them with a warm “Happy Mother’s Day”.

I’ll share to you a story about celebrating Mother’s Day. There was this mother who has two sons. They were not rich, so both of them strive hard just to finish college and earn a living. Now that they both have their own family, they seldom visit their mom.

It was mother’s day and the eldest of the two called up his brother. They were planning to visit their mom. So they both meet in a certain place together with their family and planned on buying a gift for their mom. After agreeing about the gift they went to their mom’s place, brought foods, greeted their mom, and give her the gift. They said to their mom: “Before; you use to tell us, it’s hard to raise a family having two kids and a low salary. I hope I had plenty of rest and peace so I can be free from this entire problem. We are planning to buy you flowers since we are kids. We found this bouquet of flowers but it is expensive. But it says everything that you ever wanted. It has a tag with it saying Rest in Peace. But it’s better to give you a single rose with thorns and a chocolate. To constantly remind you that even though we may be considered as thorns that clings to the stem of a rose. We are here to protect the beautiful blossom of the rose. Your special to us and we will never forget that your our mom. Of course chocolate is your favorite that’s why we bought it.”

We seldom see the hardship of our mother’s to raise a kid like us, or others may not even have a chance to know or meet their mother to tell them how much they love them. Don’t wait to show them your affection. It’s no longer worth it if their already dead. Give your mom a special Mother’s day treat, and let her know how it feels like to be a special mom to her kids.
